Ed Davey replaces Chris Huhne as the new secretary of state for energy and climate change
As Chris Huhne steps down from government to fight criminal charges, Liberal Democrat MP Ed Davey has joined the cabinet as the new secretary of state for energy and climate change.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said the MP for Kingston and Surbiton is: “Is the right man for the job and has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to environmental and green issues. He had also shown a formidable grasp of government policy”.
